1Look the pallet stackerover. Identify the different parts such as the forks and the lifting mechanism, and get familiar with which part does what.
2Obtain the owner's manual from the manufacturer and read it carefully. Each electric pallet stackerhas its own different functions, so be sure you understand how your particular model is operated.3
Get trained on the electric pallet stacker's operation. Watch your trainer operate it and have him watch you. Make sure you ask any questions and know what all the controls do before operating it yourself.
4Know the load capacity of your pallet stacker. Most pallet stackers are able to lift loads from about 3,000 to 5,000 pounds. Do not try to exceed this amount and make sure the load is securely on the forks before trying to lift it.
5Check your blind spots. Most pallet stackers, while designed to lift loads up to 122 inches, have places you cannot see around. To make sure you know what is behind your load while lifting, ask a coworker to spot you. This could possibly save someone's life.
